We welcome over 75,000 visitors to Burford Church each year from around the globe. With around 850 years of history to explore, and listed in Simon Jenkins’ “England’s Thousand Best Churches” as one of only 18 five star churches, Burford Church is a must see for any visitor to the Cotswolds.
We are open from 9.00 - 5.00 every day, with the exception of services and other events. Please check below for closures before travelling. Details of the opening times of other churches in the Benefice can be found on their individual pages.
For specific events, such as weddings, funerals or concerts, the church will be closed to the public. Advance notice of closures is shown below but if you would like to check a specific date please get in touch by phone or using the form below.

INFORMATION AND Tours
We provide free printed tour guides in many languages and our duty verger is always happy to answer questions on the building or the activities held here.
We welcome tour parties from all over the world. We can, with advance notice, arrange for one of our highly knowledgeable Vergers to act as a Tour Guide to ensure your tour party makes the most of your time at the church.
We would be grateful for a donation to help in covering the extensive costs of keeping open the building to members of the public. If you would like guidance on this please do ask.
