We are delighted to announce that the next

Vicar of the Burford Benefice will be

the Rev Tom Putt.

Tom is currently the Associate Minister in Yeovil and Chaplain at the 6th Form College. He is married to Anna, and they have three children Ellie (9), Sam (6) & Abbie (2), plus Clemmie, their Labrador, whom they enjoy taking for a walk.

Tom trained at Oak Hill and was a Curate in Kirk Ella & Willerby, two villages just outside Hull. Tom has been involved in the Children’s Ministry at the Keswick Convention for 20 years and has led it for 12. Tom and Anna met at Keswick and she is a Trustee of Keswick Ministries. Anna was a School teacher before they had the children and has had lots of involvement with all the churches they have been a part of.

Tom says: “Anna and I are thrilled to be coming to share in the partnership of the gospel with you! Throughout the discernment process, and in particular the interview days, we were bowled over by the love, care and support we received. We were encouraged by the warmth of Christian faith expressed in deep prayerfulness and the desire to reach each community for Jesus Christ.”

Tom, Anna and the family expect to move into the Vicarage during the second half of June. Bishop Colin anticipates holding the service of institution and induction in the first half of July.

All of those who were involved in making the appointment, Bishop, Patron, Church Wardens, Parish Representatives, Clergy and staff, are sure that it is the Lord’s will that Tom becomes our next Vicar. We look forward to what the Lord will do in the coming years as we continue to serve him here.

Let us continue in prayer as we wait to give the Putt family a genuinely warm welcome in June.
