Swinbrook, Oxon
Welcome to St. Mary Church, Swinbrook.
A 12th century church in the Windrush Valley, with early enlargements and a tower tacked on in 1822 - a recent 'afterthought'. It is full of interest and light, the clear glass windows illuminating both the architecture and some amazing monuments to the Fettiplace family. In the churchyard are the graves of Unity, Nancy, Pamela and Diana Mitford along with their parents, David and Sydney, Lord and Lady Redesdale. There is also a memorial to their brother, Tom who died of wounds at the end of the second world war.
