Friends Of Burford Church

A very active group, The Friends of Burford Church is a vitally important part of the church family. Formed in 1946, the Friends was, and still is, a company of friends who love and value Burford Parish Church and who, together, undertake tasks that are crucially important to the fabric and life of the church. Typical tasks carried out by this dedicated group include the organisation of improvements to the church and its activities and the acquisition of grants.

A resourceful group, raising funds through subscriptions, donations and also through a stand at the south door of the church selling leaflets, booklets and postcards, the Friends has achieved some significant successes; most notably, perhaps, in the last year, the provision of new chairs for the entire congregation - something for which our members are particularly appreciative!

Anyone is welcome to join the Friends and, indeed, we have a number of members from overseas. Life membership is charged at £30 and the Friends of Burford Church book stands as a timeless record of members' cherished support, dating right back to the very first members! Prayers are said weekly for the Friends, who also receive an annual newsletter.
