Our Life
Welcome to Burford Church! We are a Bible-teaching, Church of England church that proclaims Jesus Christ to our town and the surrounding villages. We hope that you will come and join us at our Sunday services or midweek activities. Whether you are already a Christian, or simply want to find out more about Christianity, we hope you will find something that suits you. We seek to provide a range of services, activities and Christian teaching for all ages and stages of life. We provide a wide variety of styles of worship in our services and events. Our Heritage
The magnificent church of St. John the Baptist, Burford, of almost cathedral-like proportions was built from around 1175 and is described in Simon Jenkins' book "England's Thousand Best Churches" as the "queen of Oxfordshire, a paragon and museum of the English Parish Church". It is overflowing with beautiful artefacts and fascinating stories of history. Come and see Our Heritage for yourselves.

Each Wednesday evening in May 2012
We are the only parents our children have got!! Yet often we are too busy to stop and assess what we are doing. The Parenting Course is going to run on Wednesday evenings in May, at St John the Baptist, Burford. This 5 week practical course has been used in many different settings and is intended to inform, reassure, strengthen and fire us in our role as parents. The primary focus will be on parenting children from 0-10 years old.
It is for those who are enjoying their children and want to think how to do things better, and equally for those who are feeling overwhelmed and defeated! The five sessions will have a mixture of input (from Richard and Nicola Coombs), DVD clips, small group discussion and space for personal evaluation; and they aim to be fun and relevant. Last time one of the parents said “The Parenting Course can’t come highly recommended enough…. it felt a bit like getting the ‘key to the manual’!”
Anyone is welcome to attend, whether you go to church or not, whether you are parenting by yourself or as a couple.
